Ms Lara Williams

Ms. Williams has 8 years of experience in the human service field.  She earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.  Ms. Williams started her career as a residential counselor at Alternatives Unlimited, Inc., a non-profit organization serving 235 adults with psychiatric disabilities throughout Central Massachusetts.  She was trained in the Boston University model and directly provided rehabilitation services to individuals.  When she became a manager, Ms. Williams provided goal-oriented supervision to direct care staff.

            In her current role as the Director of Quality Improvement, Ms. Williams is responsible for supervising the agency’s Quality Improvement Team and training more than 100 staff in Psych Rehab technology, including assessment, planning, and intervention.  Ms. Williams has worked within Alternatives to streamline training activities and develop procedures to ensure that staff can quickly grasp and implement effective and meaningful rehabilitation services. 

            Ms. Williams has presented at several international psychosocial rehabilitation conferences on practical and innovative ways to implement psychiatric rehabilitation in a recovery-oriented organization.
